The contest should now be officially ended? When will results be posted and/or awards be distributed?

Yes, this is separate. The accuracy contest has ended but we are still calculating the final leaderboard. Expect a blog post giving a status update in the next day. There is a lot riding on the outcome so we want to be very sure of the result.

Woohoo! I just want to give a big thanks to Charles and everyone on the SciCast team. I know it’s hassle dealing with all the arguments over resolution criteria and definition, but I and others really do appreciate it.

By the way, is there a way to see if we’ve taken these surveys before? Do you want us to take them all over again? I feel like I’ve taken some of them multiple times already.

Something is not working as intended then, because I just checked the surveys and they are all open again. Does SurveyMonkey use IP identifiers or something?

@sflicht is correct. It’s set up so that you can take a survey just once. Click on the survey and a screen will indicate if you’ve already taken it.

Ted is correct though. I had definitely taken a few of these surveys in the past (months ago) and it let me take them again just now. While it is not letting me take the surveys for a third time, you might want to make sure some people aren’t being double counted.

Thanks for the heads up. We’ll make sure that each user name is counted just once in per survey for the drawing.

Yeah, I just checked and the surveys are open again. I think I have taken them many times for you guys, so I hope you’re using all of them

The survey option is to not allow someone to take a survey multiple times on the same computer. However, while we are counting each survey for each user name just once for the purposes of the drawings, we will review all of the data.
